Lynn Gibson - Partner
Lynn formed Gibson Hewitt & Co in 1988 with Robert Hewitt. Both were senior managers with the leading accountancy practice of Touche Ross at the time. She is an honours graduate in Economics at the University of Manchester. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1978. She is a Fellow of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals and a qualified Insolvency Practitioner. She has an extensive record of success in organising business plans, corporate restructuring, fundraising and viability reviews. She speaks regularly to a wide variety of organisations, including the Institute of Directors, Chambers of Commerce and Citizens Advice Bureaus. She is a keen sailor and has two children.
Robert Hewitt - Partner
Robert qualified as a chartered accountant in 1979. He has extensive experience of viability reviews, in preparing and implementing business plans and in start-up ventures. He is a Fellow of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals and a qualified Insolvency Practitioner.
He has served as a director of both public and private companies and as both as a trustee and an adviser to charities. He has a wide range of interests outside the firm and has 3 children
Paul Guilfoyle - Consultant
Paul trained with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells in London before moving into the City with the Swiss-owned private bank and discretionary portfolio manager Lombard Odier. He then joined his family chartered accountancy practice, the Newport-based, Guilfoyle, Sage & Co., to set up and run a new office in Gloucester. After 11 years as a partner, he was persuaded back to Lombard Odier before returning to Surrey to develop a consultancy within the legal and accountancy profession.
Phil Cake - Manager, Insolvency Division
Phil trained with Gibson Hewitt to become a Chartered Accountant and has passed the Joint Insolvency Examination Board. Before joining Gibson Hewitt he was a Personal Accounts Manager with Lloyds TSB. He claims that his ambition is ‘to survive the week’! Perhaps that also involves his leisure-time activities, A keen runner, he goes in for ‘Tough Guy’ Competitions!
Sarah-Jane Black - Manager, Accounts Team
Sarah-Jane, a part qualified CIMA accountant, joined the team in early 2005. She has extensive experience of accounting in industry. She has a varied range of interests and 2 children.
Helen Lewis - Tax Team
Helen is an Honours graduate of Kingston University with a BA in Accounting and Finance. She is a Chartered Certified Accountant having tradined with a top 10 firm and then spent 22 years in public practice. In her leisure time, Helen is a keen gardener.
